Why do people continue to believe in Astrology?
First of all, the day that it was proven that the Earth is not flat and that Sun does not revolve around the Earth was the day that the concept of the “Twelve Houses of the Zodiac” that segment the horizon became false.
The fact that a person was born at a certain time of year with the planets in a certain position does not predispose them to any kind of particular behavior as there are too many other variables that are at work in a persons life as they mature for that to have any kind of effect at all.
And standing at a jewelry counter and listening to seemingly intelligent people discuss which stones are compatible with their astrological sign in the year 2006 is indeed a sad commentary about how far we have progressed in dispelling ignorance and superstitions since the dark ages.
The Earth is not flat!
The Sun does not revolve around the Earth!
Alignment of Planets cannot predict the future!
Horoscopes are not accurate!
So why do so many people still believe in Astrology?
Because people need something to believe in. It’s cool to think that everything you are, everything you do, and all aspects of your life are predetermined.
