How do you melt,old Jewelry?

The reason for this Question is=I have all these old stuff like=necklaces, earrings,bracelets,watches,pendants,nick nats Jewelry.I saw on t.v. they buying gold n silver,then they are melting it.I just taught maybe I can do it somehow.Melting all this jewelry.

It takes special (and expensive) equipment to melt down jewelry… not to mention quite a lot of training, and a facility that can safely handle it. It’s not something you can do at home. The average household oven doesn’t even come close to getting hot enough to do if (if it did, you wouldn’t be able to bake anything… all your pans would melt). You would first need to build a smelting furnace to even get started.

In addition, they usually attempt to extract impurities in the metal before casting it, and it’s unlikely you could get access privately to the chemicals required to do so.
